Summary: Are you a technician with a background in servicing, repair maintenance? We’re seeking skilled and motivated FTO’s for emergency response equipment.

Job Description: Field Testing Officers – Sydney, Brisbane and Central Queensland

Are you a hands on mechanic or technician with a strong background in servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment? We’re seeking skilled and motivated Field Testing Officers to join a dynamic and purpose-driven team supporting essential safety services across Australia.

About the Role

As a Field Testing Officer, you’ll be responsible for the servicing, testing, maintenance, and certification of a wide range of emergency response equipment. This includes breathing apparatus, gas detectors, rebreathers, fire nozzles, and rescue tools. You’ll deliver quality service both on-site and in the workshop, ensuring equipment is operational, compliant, and ready to support life-saving operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct installation, commissioning, and functional testing of safety equipment on client sites and in-house.
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance in line with OEM specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare service quotes, documentation, and certification records.
  • Deliver training on equipment use and maintenance to end users.
  • Maintain calibration of test equipment and ensure personal certifications remain current.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, inventory tracking, and equipment dispatch/receiving.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Ideally, you will be a trade qualified mechanic or fitter so will understand how to handle tools and understand mechanical principles. Alternatively, there is a development plan in place for someone without formal trade qualifications but solid mechanical acumen.

There is a moderate administrative side to the role involved in certifying work but that can be taught on the job. There will be extensive travel required and this person must have the ability to engage clients and provide a quality customer experience.

Why Apply?

  • Work with specialised equipment that makes a real difference in safety and emergency readiness.
  • Supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Company vehicle and tools provided.
  • Opportunities for growth and technical upskilling.
