Summary: We are seeking a National BDM to be at the forefront of launching an innovative modular construction solution to the healthcare market in Australia.
Job Description: Our client is a market leader in healthcare innovation, bringing cutting-edge European best practices to Australia and New Zealand. With a successful track record of project delivery in New Zealand, they are poised for significant growth. The company specialises in modern, modular solutions for operating theatres and healthcare facilities – offering hospitals a more efficient, cost-effective, and future-focused way to deliver patient care.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) to be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne, will be responsible for establishing and expanding the company’s footprint in Australia’s healthcare infrastructure sector, specifically within the private hospital market. This is a strategic role, leading the charge in building a pipeline, nurturing executive-level relationships, and driving the modular theatre offering across new markets.
Key Responsibilities within the first 6 Months will include:
- Identify and engage C-suite executives at the top private hospital providers with theatre development plans.
- Build and manage a comprehensive target list of all relevant stakeholders (hospital executives, builders, architects).
- Develop tailored strategies for lead engagement and nurturing.
- Establish a measurable pipeline with clear movement and opportunity tracking.
Ongoing responsibilities will include:
- Lead business development initiatives across Australia, focusing on private healthcare infrastructure modernisation.
- Collaborate closely with remote technical and subject matter experts – acting as a key conduit between stakeholders and the company’s delivery teams.
- Ensure the company is specified by architects early in the design phase of projects.
- Represent the company at industry events, forums, and client presentations.
Key Requirements include:
- Proven ability to engage and influence C-suite decision-makers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex solutions to senior stakeholders in construction, architecture, and healthcare.
- Understanding of commercial design and construction pathways.
- Ability to work collaboratively and leverage internal subject matter experts.
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen to position healthcare solutions as long-term investments.
- Existing relationships within the private hospital network is desirable.
- Experience in healthcare, architectural consulting, or commercial construction.
- Previous experience working with or selling to architects.
